Pat Caputo: A Player-By-Player View At The Detroit Mud Hens

Call it superstition. Refer to it as urban legend.

For the Tigers, the notion "bad things happen in threes" has become the indisputable truth.

1. Third baseman Brandon Inge, disabled list, fractured hand, out at least a month.

2. Right fielder Magglio Ordonez, disabled list, broken ankle, out six-to-eight weeks.

3. Second baseman Carlos Guillen, disabled list, pulled calf muscle, out two weeks.

This hit roughly a week before the trade deadline, and with the Tigers facing a potential road trip to Hades at Tampa Bay and Boston. Yet, it happened while the Tigers are still close to the lead in the American League Central standings.
