Park West Foundation Helps Transition For Foster Teens
DETROIT (WWJ) - For young people in the foster care system, especially those about to age out of the system or who have aged out with no place to go, life is very challenging.
Help is available for young adults who are too old for foster care.
WWJ's Pat Sweeting reports through the Park West Foundation older teens and young adults are able to get their lives back on track.
One such person is Kinita McDaniel, who was twice impregnated by her step-father, is now determined not to let her past determine her future.
"I'm a full-time student at the University of Phoenix, I'm majoring in Criminal Justice with a concentration in Human Resources, so I'm going to be a judge, you'll see Judge McDaniel very soon," McDaniel says.
