Neighbors Rescue Dog Seen Being Dragged Behind Car

DETROIT (WWJ) -- A dog is recovering after a group of people saw him being dragged behind a car by a rope on Thursday.

Witnesses in Detroit's Delray neighborhood saw "Bronco" being dragged behind the car before intervening and getting the vehicle to stop. Somone was able to detach the dog from the car before the driver sped away.

Bronco was taken to Groesbeck Animal Hospital by the Detroit Pit Crew Dog Rescue and diagnosed with road rash on his back. He is expected to fully recover.

A campaign was started on YouCaring.com to help raise money for Bronco's medical bills. The group is looking to raise $400 in 90 days.
