National Night Out
For the 27th consecutive year, Detroit Police will be out in the community as part of National Night Out festivities aimed at building better relationships with residents, while sharing an anti-crime, anti-drug message.
Food and entertainment are planned at several precincts throughout the city starting at 4 o'clock this afternoon and lasting into the evening.
This is the 10th year the city of Auburn Hills has participated in National Night Out festivities. That city's events will be held at the Community Center, located on the Municipal Campus on North Squirrel Road.
Last year, a reported 36-million people took part in similar "Night Out" celebrations throughout the country... according to event organizers.
