Milan High Student Charged With Making Bomb Threat
MILAN, Mich. (AP) - A senior has been charged with threatening to bomb his high school in southeastern Michigan.
The alleged threat by 17-year-old Anthony Caputo was made on Facebook on Oct. 8, but Milan High School officials didn't know about it until Sunday. Superintendent Bryan Girbach says the district can't monitor the Internet but will react when issues are raised. Police searched the school Monday and found nothing.
The Monroe Evening News says Caputo was upset over a teaching method that requires students work in groups. He's charged with using a computer to make a threat and making a false bomb threat. A prosecutor, Joseph Costello Jr., says Caputo confessed during a police interview.
It was not immediately known Tuesday if he has an attorney.
