Michigan State Employee Charged With Identity Theft

LANSING (AP) - Michigan Secretary of State Ruth Johnson says an employee of her agency has been charged with identity theft and other crimes.

She says 38-year-old Lisa Brown-Quinn was arraigned Friday on three counts each of identity theft and falsifying applications for a driver's license, four conspiracy counts and a single count of using computers to commit a crime

She says the six-year-employee has been suspended from her job at a Westland branch office.

Johnson says her Office of Investigative Services learned that an employee allegedly helped a customer obtain a driver's license in someone else's name and the case was referred to the Michigan State Police.

Brown-Quinn doesn't have a published home telephone number and she could not be reached for comment.
