Michigan Matters: 4 Michigan authors discuss their latest works

As we count down the final days of summer, there's still a wee bit of time left to grab a good book as you head to the beach or maybe your backyard.

Four well-known local authors — Vanessa Denha Garmo, Berl Falbaum, Amy Pipper and Jamie  Ruthenberg — appear on Michigan Matters this Sunday to talk about their latest book.

Denha Garmo, who runs a communications company, wrote "Conversations that Create the Culture: Assessing Communication Styles — 11 Valuable Insights for Leaders," which offers advice and life lessons. Berl Falbaum, a longtime Michigan journalist, wrote "Truths About Truth Seekers: The Media and the Law," which focuses on the media. Amy Pipper, a travel blogger, wrote "Small Town Michigan," which features 50 towns in the Great Lakes State she visited that people might want to consider. Jamie Ruthenberg has two new children's books: "A Day with Oz and Ella series – The Escape," and "Miles and the Summer Day."

The four talk about coming up with the idea for their book, writing it and getting published.

Ruthenberg has written 29 books across all genres, including biographies and children's books, and she also illustrates them.
