Police Asking For Help Identifying Man Found Dead In Pontiac Park

PONTIAC (WWJ) - Detectives from the Oakland County Sheriff's office are working to identify a man found dead in a Pontiac park Sunday.

Police say the body of the older black man was discovered in Hawthorne Park, near Telegraph and Walton Boulevard. Police believe that foul play is involved in the man's death. Officials say it is possible the man was not from the Pontiac area.

The deceased is described as an older black male, thin build, possibly in his mid-fifties to early sixties. He has short salt and pepper hair and was clean shaven. He was found wearing blue jean pants, a long sleeve blue sweatshirt and gray shorts. He was also wearing newer black and gray "Nike Air Max" shoes.

The Sheriff's Office has had no missing person reports of a missing man in the Pontiac area of this description. It is possible he is not from the Pontiac area.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Oakland County Sheriff's office.
