Lions Report: Notes, Quotes
--Club president Lewand was asked if the Lions had appealed the tampering charges levied against the team. While not answering whether an appeal was made or rejected, he made it clear that the Lions had accepted the penalties.
"We are prepared to move forward under the directive that was announced by the league," he said. Meaning, the Lions will forfeit their seventh-round pick in the draft next month, and instead of having the ninth pick in the fifth round, they will have the 23rd.
--The Lions have had visits from Colorado CB Jimmy Smith, Nebraska CB Prince Amukamara and Cal DE Cam Jordan. They have workouts scheduled with Oklahoma RB DeMarco Murray, Virginia Union OT Dave Mims and Fresno State LB Chris Carter.
QUOTE TO NOTE
"I don't think that there will be an agreement anytime soon. I'm saying that I'm not too hopeful, but I'm working out right now as if I'm getting a call any day that things are back on." -- WR Nate Burleson.
