Lexus Recalls GS 350 Sport Sedans
TORRANCE, CA -- (WWJ) A steering problem is prompting Lexus to recall some brand new 2013 GS 350 sport sedans. The problem is specific to the rear wheel drive "F-Sport" trims. So, it only impacts about 650 vehicles.
The main issue is a software problem that can cause the steering to become imprecise. That could increase the risk of a crash.
"On certain early 2013 model year GS 350 F-Sport RWD vehicles, the ECU for the VGRS system could cause the steering wheel to become off-centered when restarting the vehicle immediately after the vehicle is parked with the steering wheel turned," read a statement from Toyota. "Dealers will update the VGRS ECU calibration to address the condition."
Lexus engineers discovered the problem during testing. The company says it doesn't know of any accidents or injuries.
Recall notices are expected to go out next month. The repair is expected to take about a half hour.
