Leland, Michigan Earns National Distinction For Its Sunsets
LELAND, Mich. (WWJ) - Michigan's reputation for beauty now extends beyond beaches. Leland, Michigan -- near Traverse City -- has been voted as the second Best Place to Watch a Sunset in North America.
USA Today says its readers named Clearwater Beach, Florida -- near Tampa -- as the top sunset spot. Albuquerque, New Mexico; Key West, Florida; and North Carolina's Outer Banks rounded out the top five.
The Leland Chamber of Commerce, meanwhile, is hoping the distinction will draw more people to the area.
