Large fuel spill causes partial closure of northbound I-275 at 6 Mile Road

A large fuel spill has caused a partial closure of northbound I-275 at 6 Mile Road in Wayne County, Michigan State Police say. 

The Michigan Department of Transportation says the right shoulder and exit ramp at northbound I-275 at 6 Mile are blocked. 

The fuel spill occurred Tuesday afternoon, and MSP expects the road cleanup to take two to three hours. Police have not said what caused the incident. 

Troopers are advising motorists to seek an alternate route.
