Kids Raise Money For Schools Through Art
A new program called "Young Masters" has partnered with four local schools, two in Lake Orion, one in Rochester Hills, and in Utica.
Owner Jill Moran says the program allows kids to create original art work, which is then transferred onto mugs, mousepads, sweatshirts, and other products that become keepsakes or gifts.
Moran says, "It makes a great gift for the holidays. It also is a new kind of fundraiser for schools. It's different from selling or wrapping paper or candy. And it's something parents can have as a nice keepsake."
How much does it cost to turn a child's art work into a keepsake?
According to Moran, "The least expensive item starts at eight dollars. That would be for a set of magnets, bag tags for backpacks are very popular. The most expensive item is an Art Throw, like a big blanket, that would be 145 dollars."
Moran says Young Masters is also available for birthday parties or fundraisers for groups like Boy or Girl Scouts.
