Khang's Blog: Goodell Isn't Gaining Fans
I've never really been a big Roger Goodell fan and his latest statements aren't making me hate him any less. Goodell recently said part of the reason for the NFL lockout is that "they want a better economical model for the fans." Are you kidding me? So does this mean NFL tickets will be cheaper when the lockout is over? Does this mean they will also lower cost of food, beverages and parking? Maybe even sell team apparel at a more reasonable price? Of course not. Tickets like everything else in the NFL will continually rise. Goodell needs to stop using the fans as an excuse for everything he and the NFL want done. Fans don't want 18 regular season games. Fans don't want a Superbowl in London. And fans definitely don't want blackouts! If Goodell were really doing things in the fans' interest there wouldn't currently be an NFL lockout right now.
