Kenny Jimenez Named Entertainment Manager For Detroit Pistons Entertainment Teams
AUBURN HILLS, Mich. – The Detroit Pistons announced today that Kenny Jimenez has been named Entertainment Manager for all game entertainment performance teams, effective immediately.
Jimenez brings 15 years of entertainment experience and a long history in the sports and entertainment industry. He has developed numerous dancers and performers, many of whom have gone on to dance for such notables as Michael Jacksons' "This Is It" Tour, Janet Jackson, Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Chris Brown, Cirque Du Soliel and others.
"We are pleased to have Kenny Jimenez serve as manager of our entertainment performance teams because he brings a broad-based entertainment background to our organization," said Harlan Hendrickson, Vice President of Marketing for Palace Sports & Entertainment and the Detroit Pistons. "Not only is he a skilled choreographer, but his solid experience in management and entertainment production will help set a level of cohesiveness amongst all of our performance groups."
In the sports entertainment arena, Jimenez has produced shows and managed the entertainment offerings for a wide range of entities including NBA, AFL, AND One, World Cup, ESPN, U.S. Olympics, FILA and NASCAR.
As Entertainment Manager, his role will be expanded to directing the Detroit Pistons Dancers as well as managing the organization's other entertainment groups; Cheer Team, Drumline, D-Town Dancers, Flight Crew, Mob Squad and Palace Patrol.
He joined the Pistons last season as an entertainment group consultant. In this role, he choreographed and helped produce the Pistons halftime shows, which included the entertainment teams performing with such acts as T-Pain, Flo Rida, Wyclef Jean, Gym Class Heroes, MC Hammer, Gladys Knight, Bell Biv Devoe and Salt-N-Pepa in large-scale music and dance extravaganzas.
Jimenez will direct the auditioning process to select the 2012-13 Detroit Pistons Dancers. Those auditions will take place on July 28-29 at The Palace. For further information, details and to register on-line, visit http://www.nba.com/pistons/dance/dancers_auditions.html
