Humane Society Partners For Donations: Every Dollar Helps
DETROIT – The Michigan Humane Society is opening new avenues this holiday season to get funds for the area's homeless animals.
The Humane Society is teaming up with Mobibo, a new application for smartphones that pays the user for viewing ads, to help benefit animals in need this holiday season. Until Dec. 31, for every download of the free Mobibo application on iPhone or Android platforms, Mobibo will donate 25 cents to MHS.
"We've been a part of this state since 1877, and we're proud to partner with a home-grown Michigan business to benefit animals in need," said Michael Robbins, vice president of Marketing and Communications at MHS. "The donations generated by this program will help pets find their loving forever homes and create many happy holiday memories."
The Mobibo application uses the smartphone's integrated GPS to alert consumers when they are near an advertiser's place of business about discounts or promotions being offered.
When viewed, the consumer is paid 25 cents for each ad, which can be redeemed through the user's PayPal account. The user does not have to use the discount or offer to get paid – they receive the money for just viewing the deal.
For every download of the Mobibo application, MHS will receive 25 cents; with no limit on how much Mobibo will donate. Visit http://www.michiganhumane.org/mobibo or www.mobibo.com to download the free application. Smartphone users can visit the App Store or Marketplace and search for Mobibo.
The Michigan Humane Society is a private, nonprofit organization that cares for more than 100,000 animals each year, while working to end companion animal homelessness, provide the highest quality service and compassion to the animals entrusted to our care, and to be a leader in promoting humane values.
