Automation Alley Promotes Three Staffers: Troy-based Automation Alley, Michigan's largest technology business association, announced Thursday that it has restructured with the promotion of three staff members. Charles DeVries has been promoted to senior director of business development. He is now responsible for forging relationships with elected officials, businesses, foundations, the press and government at all levels and will provide strategic advice, counsel and support for Automation Alley management. DeVries' previous title was director of government affairs. Alysia Green, formerly workforce development supervisor, now holds the new position of manager of talent development. She is responsible for administering Automation Alley programming and managing all workforce development initiatives. Green also recently became a Certified Business Solutions Professional (C.B.S.P.), a certificate that allows Green to educate economic development, workforce development and education professionals in retaining and creating jobs in local communities. Additionally, Katie Mullin is now serving as the Alley's new manager of marketing and communications. Her duties involve managing all aspects of Automation Alley's internal and external communications, as well as marketing collateral and advertising. Her previous title was marketing and communications coordinator. Since its founding in 1999, Automation Alley has expanded to include more than 1,000 businesses, educational institutions and government entities, covering an eight county area and the City of Detroit. Automation Alley promotes regional prosperity through business attraction services, exporting assistance, workforce development and technology acceleration.
