Hockey Fan Scores With New Invention

The stench of well-worn hockey gear smells like success for a pair of Windsor men.  Roger Robinet  is one of the inventors of the DryLocker--a traditional hockey bag loaded with air filters and fans.

"The bag blows up, something like a lawn ornament, it's nice and puffy, and it forces air through the bag, which basically removes the moisture.  The faster you remove the moisture, the less chance of mold and mildew building up in your bag," he said.

Robinet says the idea was borne from a nasal necessity.

"My sons played hockey and lacrosse and have testaments to probably the stinkiest equipment around.  So, through travel hockey and travel lacrosse, being stuck in motel rooms, trying to dry equipment out on the register, which basically clears the motel room out," said Robinet.

So how do they work?  "They plug into the wall, or plug into your car with an easy car adapter.  It took a long time to find the proper fans to push the air through the bag at a proper rate," Robinet said.

Robinet says the plug-in fan dries your full set of hockey gear--in the bag--in about two hours.  He says there are plans to expand their line to include gym bags, hunting bags, and mobile closets.

According to the company's website, U.S. customers need to call first to work out shipping details.
