Grid4 Communications Celebrates 10 years of Success

TROY -- Grid4 Communications this month is celebrating its 10th anniversary.

Company officials say Grid4 opened Sept. 10, 2001 in the basement of a metro Detroit home, where five people working at wholesale club tables and garage sale chairs began reselling long distance phone service and dial-up Internet connections.

In 2004, the company moved to its own office in Troy, and its first central office was switched on in 2005. In 2006, Grid4 moved to its current home, 32,000 square feet on Crooks Road.

Grid4's owners say they wanted to build a company they wanted to buy from -- a smarter network with employees that listen and are proactive.

Grid4 was recognized as "Technology Company of the Year" in 2009 by Automation Alley, a leading regional consortium of technology companies and growing industries.

"Over the past 10 years, our employees have chosen to use their talents to fulfill this company's mission," said Grid4 president and CEO Chris Hopkins. "Thousands of clients, customers and business partners have found value in our products and services, and used them to help make the world work better. To every single individual, thank you. Our continued success allows us to leverage the latest technology to continue developing new services for businesses and creating more Michigan jobs. We look forward to cultivating new relationships and continuing to be a technology leader in our community."

Today, Grid4 provides innovative and reliable IP communication services that enhance productivity, are cost-effective and smartly allow for future business growth. Grid4's SmartComm suite of services include IP voice, high-speed Internet access, managed IP technology, security solutions, and advanced data networking for multi-location businesses. More at
