GreenLancer.com Reports 10X Spike In Customers Since June

DETROIT (WWJ) -- The concept of GreenLancer.com, a virtual team of solar engineers to do all the pre-construction work for solar power projects, is winning more than just awards.

The Detroit-based company Tuesday reported a tenfold spike in new customer accounts since June.

And yes, the company has won awards -- "Emerging Company of the Year" by Michigan Energy Innovation Business Council Oct. 28, winner of Start Up Alley Challenge at the 2013 Solar Power International show Oct. 23, semifinalist for next week's Accelerate Michigan Innovation competition.

"All start-ups face the same challenge of getting attention from investors, industry insiders and customers," said Michael Sharber, GreenLancer.com chief executive officer. "Through recent success in competitions, we've made huge inroads with current and potential customers who are asking to take a closer look at our products. The economics of solar energy are changing. As hardware costs have declined, the industry has turned its attention on reducing soft costs. This is the area where GreenLancer technology excels."

GreenLancer.com uses its comprehensive "assembly line" to allow for quicker, more accurate project documents. GreenLancer's approach combines cloud computing with a national network of green energy engineering freelancers (or "greenlancers") who are highly skilled at developing and engineering plans to meet clients' diverse energy needs. The four-step program typically includes a feasibility study, concept design, financial analysis and permitting. The result is more accurate, predictable documents faster and at a far lower price than brick and mortar competitors.

Contractors can now order the entire spectrum of documents needed to take a project from feasibility through construction. GreenLancer.com documents can be branded with contractors' logos, so that GreenLancer.com can, in effect, serve as a back office operation for contractors seeking to add solar energy expertise to their services.
