GM Donates Chevy Volt To Michigan Tech
General Motors donated a new Chevy Volt range-extended electric car to Michigan Tech's Advanced Power Systems Research Center on Saturday, Aug. 6.
Terry Woychowski, vice president of global vehicle program management at GM, presented the keys to the Volt to Michigan Tech president Glenn Mroz on behalf of GM.
The donation bolsters Michigan Tech's certificate program in hybrid electric and electric vehicle engineering by giving students hands-on experience on a vehicle that represents the latest advances in automotive technology.
Receiving the vehicle was Michigan Tech President Glenn Mroz and Associate Professor Jeff Naber. Naber is the director of the Center, which focuses on clean, efficient and sustainable power systems.
