Fire burns through strip mall in Garden City
A strip mall in Garden City, Michigan, was damaged by a fire on Sunday evening, according to police.
The fire at the complex on Middlebelt Road between Ford Road and Maplewood Street started around 5:30 p.m. Police said all storefronts except one were vacant after initially reporting that five businesses were impacted.
There have been no reported injuries.
Middlebelt Road between Ford and Warren roads was closed for several hours on Sunday night while crews put out the fire.
City officials warned on Facebook Sunday night that residents in the surrounding area could experience temporary power outages and discolored water.
