Film Studio Breaks Ground In Pontiac Today
Lights, camera, action in Pontiac today as groundbreaking is set for an $80 million film studio.
Raleigh Studios plans to convert the old Pontiac Truck Plant into a film center. In addition to remodeling the old plant, the studio's owners will build a 200,000-square-foot building on the property.
Construction on the sprawling studio should be complete by early 2011, according to developers. When the studio is complete, plans call for more post-production work to be done there as well.
The endeavor is projected to create 3,000 jobs over the next three years.
