CBS DETROIT - General manager Martin Mayhew said last month that he could see a scenario where neither Ndamukong Suh nor Nick Fairley returned to the Detroit Lions in 2015, and with both players now signed with other teams, that will indeed be the case.
Suh signed with the Miami Dolphins on Wednesday, and fellow defensive tackle Nick Fairley has agreed to a deal with the St. Louis Rams.
Fairley's deal is for one year and a base salary of $5 million, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. With incentives, Fairley could make up to $7.5 million.
The Lions declined to pick up Fairley's fifth-year option before the 2014 season, citing concerns about his motivation and his weight. After a brief demotion during the preseason, Fairley played well before suffering a season-ending knee injury eight games into the year.
