DPS Outlines Restructuring Plan
DETROIT (WWJ) - The Financial Manager of Detroit Schools has named 45 schools which will either be turned into "charter" schools or close altogether.
Robert Bobb released the long anticipated list Wednesday afternoon. It's a plan that has no shortage of critics, but Bobb says the change is necessary to save the district.

Of the 45 schools, 27 schools are on a list that guarantees they will stay open, but it's not clear whether they will be charter schools or public schools. Eight schools are scheduled to be closed. And 18 schools have been named to become charter schools. If they fail as charter schools, they will be closed.
