Detroit man accused of shooting at woman, holding her hostage in Eastpointe

A Detroit man is accused of shooting at a woman and holding her hostage at her Eastpointe home, Macomb County prosecutors said. 

Robert Terrance Phillips-Brown, 24, was arraigned on Aug. 19 on charges of assault with intent to murder, unlawful imprisonment, possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, reckless use of a firearm and three counts of felony firearm. 

On Aug. 16, prosecutors allege Phillips-Brown fired several shots at a 39-year-old woman, striking a 21-year-old man in the leg and a nearby car. 

Authorities allege Phillips-Brown entered the woman's home, and, while holding a gun, threatened to kill her and her young son. 

The woman and her son escaped the home with help from police, and Phillips-Brown was arrested after police told him to exit the home. 

Phillips-Brown was given a $750,000 bond and a GPS steel cuff tether.   

"Violence, the use of firearms to threaten innocent people, and putting children in danger will not be tolerated. We will work to ensure that those who commit violent crimes face the consequences of their actions," Macomb County Prosecutor Peter Lucido said in a statement. 

Phillips-Brown is scheduled for a probable cause conference on Sept. 1.
