Detroit Lions Asks Fans to Contribute Video For The Season of Your Life: The Detroit Lions Movie
EMBARGOED UNTIL September 4, 2012 – The Detroit Lions has partnered with Bombo Sports & Entertainment to create the world's first 'social' sports documentary. The Season of Your Life is a groundbreaking film that will capture the story of the 2012 Detroit Lions season as well as the experience of being a Lions fan.
Beginning today, fans can share their experiences as Lions fans by submitting personal videos to www.seasonofyourlife.com. The best of these videos will be incorporated as a narrative thread throughout the Lions documentary.
"Lions fans are incredible, and their experience is an integral part of the Lions' story," said Tom Lewand, president, Detroit Lions. "Weaving those pre-game traditions and fan stories in to our documentary about the team will complete the Lions' story. We are excited to show that the Lions are more than a sports team, we're part of the fabric of Detroit and the lives of Detroiters."
This 'open call' for video submissions will focus on a different theme each week throughout the season including game-day rituals, superstitions, rants, memories, wardrobes, heroes and villains, as well as emotional touchstones/tributes about family and loved ones. The unique fan submissions will be authentic, real, passionate and honest.
Across the season, the Detroit Lions will share some of the content contributed by fans on a regular basis through the club's website, social media platforms and in stadium. At the conclusion of the open call, Bombo's team will weave the best fan content with NFL Films footage and Bombo original photography to create the film.
The Season of Your Life will premiere in 2013.
