Despite Ralph Lauren Backlash, Nike's U.S. World Cup Gear Made ... Elsewhere

With the World Cup right around the corner and Nike pushing their U.S. uniforms I thought I would think outside of the box and see where exactly these U.S. uniforms were made. California, New York?
The first that popped into my mind was the backlash that Ralph Lauren got for the outfits the US Olympians wore during the opening ceremony weren't made in the U.S. but in China. Surely, no one would make that mistake again.
Boy, was I wrong. The Nike U.S. soccer uniforms available to the public are made in Sri Lanka. Yes, you read that correctly, Sri Lanka.
Well, I once again gave Nike the benefit of the doubt and thought maybe just their apparel for the U.S. would be made in America. Nope I was wrong. I found a T-shirt that is made in Honduras.
So far we have items for the U.S. that were made in Sri Lanka and Honduras, but I figured that at least one item would have to be made in America for the Americans ... Nope, I found another T-shirt made in Turkey.
What about a polo shirt that represents the U.S.? Nope, those are made in Vietnam.
So now, I have given up hope that items for the U.S. in the World Cup would be made in America. It can't be that tough, can it? Who knows ... at least the World Cup has seats for overweight people.
