Court Rules Against Teen In Fatal Shooting Incrimination Case
JACKSON COUNTY (AP) - The Michigan Supreme Court has ruled in favor of Jackson County prosecutors in a case involving a teenager who incriminated himself in a fatal shooting, after telling a detective that he didn't want to talk.
In a 3-2 decision, the court says the 17-year-old wasn't being interrogated after he invoked his right to remain silent.
The decision means the statements can be used in a murder trial.
