Cottrell Pleads Guilty To Westland Murder Of Teen

A guilty plea has been entered in a murder case involving a Westland teen.

The Wayne County Prosecutor's office says Nicholas Cottrell pleaded guilty to second degree murder in the death of 16-year-old Carlee Morse.

Cottrell will be sentenced to between 25 and 50 years in jail when he is sentenced later this month.

Cottrell also testified at a preliminary hearing for 19-year-old Justin Yoshikawa who is charged with premeditated murder in the case.

Police say Cottrell Yoshikawa confessed to the August strangling of Morse whose body hasn't been found.

Cottrell's mother is also facing charges for being an accessory after the fact.  She's due in court next week.
