Consumers Energy Working To Fix Gas Line Break In Ferndale

FERNDALE (WWJ) - Consumers Energy crews are working to fix a gas line break in Ferndale.  Police say it's on Troy Street near Paxton, east of Woodward, and south of Nine Mile Road.

Reports indicate that a resident called Consumers Energy after smelling natural gas in the sewer.

Police urge motorists to stay clear of the area as work crews deal with the situation.  Police say there's been no damage and no evacuations.

There is no information at this time as to the cause of the gas line break but crews are expected to complete repairs before Tuesday morning.
