Compuware Writes The (E-)Book On Services Industry Best Practices

Detroit-based Compuware Corp. (Nasdaq: CPWR) Thursday  announced a new e-book in partnership with Cincinnati-based SPI Research, a research firm focused on the professional services industry, titled "Building Lasting Value: Growth Strategies for Professional Services Organizations."

The e-book offers services leaders practical advice and best practices for growing and maturing a services business. The book draws on SPI consultants David Hofferberth and Jeanne Ulrich's collective 60-plus years of professional service consulting expertise and pulls in key data from SPI Research's recently completed 2011 Professional Services Maturity Benchmark study.

The e-book, which will be made available in progressive chapters during the next five months, will give services leaders valuable and practical insight into services' emergence as a primary revenue and profit driver; achieving profitable services growth; globalizing the services business; maturing and improving services execution; and
building bridges between the services organization and the broader business -- including product development, sales and support.

"Changes in the economy and the competitive market are dictating new approaches to the creation and delivery of a service portfolio," said R. David Hofferberth, founder and principal consultant at SPI Research. "Professional services executives must become more focused and deliberate in developing and implementing a clear service strategy that can be understood and followed by both clients and employees. This e-book provides practical and actionable information for services executives   helping them plan and evolve their organization for competitive advantage."

Added Lori Ellsworth, vice president at Compuware Changepoint: "Professional services have become the growth engine for many businesses, and this is especially true of the technology sector, where product revenues are continually challenged; services revenues are filling that gap. And yet, there remains a void of trusted expertise and knowledge that services executives can rely upon as they grow their business. This e-book will bring a new level of thought leadership and practical, operational wisdom to the services community."
