Comcast To Unveil New Xfinity Customer Center Concept

PLYMOUTH -- Comcast plans a reception and ribbon-cutting for Monday morning for its new Xfinity Customer Center.

The new center opens at 9 a.m. Monday at 17613 Hall Road in Macomb Township.

The 3,600-square-foot center, the first of its kind in Michigan and only the 27th such center in the nation, offers advances like 3D TV viewing and self-service kiosks.

Comcast officials say the idea of the center is to allow customers to play -- to experience all of Comcast's products and services first-hand, depending on what their needs are.

Customers will be able to use various types of cable TV connections and devices. They'll also be able to try out the apps Comcast offers for tablets. And they'll be able to play with Comcast's Xfinity Home product for home management and security. There will also be demonstrations of Xfinity Signature Support, a service that troubleshoots any electronic device a customer might have in a home.

Comcast says the Macomb Township location is not a remodeled customer service office but instead a brand new location.

Comcast also announced that the store will host a Customer Appreciation Day from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, March 2. Detroit Red Wing Thomas Holmstrom will make an appearance during the day.
