College: Consider The Community
Picking a college for your child can be a tough decision, with so many colleges out there competing for your attention. If it is of importance to you and your child, you can find out which colleges are doing the most to give back to their communities.
The University of Maryland just released a report on which colleges are serving as an anchor for their communities, helping to develop neighborhoods around them. The U.S. Government also maintains an honor roll of universities that have programs that serve the local community around campus through volunteer and service learning opportunities.
So do not ask what college can do for you, ask what colleges can do for everyone in the area.
