Coke Relishes The Challenge Of Being A Starter
Phil Coke knows the questions about his transition from reliever to starter, and he knows the adrenaline that helps him thrive in relief is foremost among them. But he believes he can make the jump back.
He was a successful starter coming up in the Minors, as he pointed out to Tigers radio play-by-play man Dan Dickerson and Pat Caputo on the Tiger Talk radio program, and he sees no reason he can't do it again.
"Absolutely," Coke said earlier this week on 97.1 FM in Detroit. "I'm welcoming this challenge with arms wide open. I love a challenge. It gives me an opportunity to prove myself in another realm of the game, and I love the challenge."
