Christine Beatty Denies Deleting Emails

DETROIT (WWJ) - The former mistress and Chief of Staff of ex-Detroit mayor Kwame Kilpatrick testified in court, Wednesday, concerning evidence allegedly destroyed in the Tamara Greene homicide investigation.

WWJ and Fox 2 Legal Analyst Charlie Langton said Christine Beatty didn't add much to the case.

"On the telephone, in court, Christine Beatty testified that she never sent any emails, never received any emails, never destroyed any emails, and never authorized anybody to destroy emails regarding anything to do with Tamara Greene," Langton said.

Langton said, however, that the case is not over. Greene family lawyer Norman Yatooma has been authorized to call two more witnesses --  the HR Director of the City of Detroit and corporation counsel.

Yatooma is suing Kilpatrick and the City, saying they intentionally destroyed emails that could help in the investigation into Greene's death.

Tamara Greene, also known as "Strawberry,"  was the exotic dancer said to have performed at an infamous, but never proven, wild party at the Manoogian Mansion.   Killed in a drive-by shooting, her murder remains unsolved.
