Brothers Charged With Assaulting Mother On Valentine's Day
PONTIAC (WWJ) Two brothers from Troy with long juvenile records were arrested on Valentine's Day in Pontiac by Oakland County Sheriff's deputies after allegedly assaulting their mother.
Arrested was Jesse Ray Kalchert, 19, and his 18-year-old brother Joshua Stephen Kalchert. Both were lodged in the Oakland County Jail and were arraigned Wednesday in front of Judge Martinez of the 50th District Court.
Both remain in the Oakland County Jail, unable to post a $10,000 or 10 percent bond and this charge and other outstanding warrants.
The pair first drew attention at 7:47 p.m. Monday when deputies were dispatched on a 911 call on a report of a verbal argument in the 300 block of Telegraph in Pontiac. Deputies were unable to determine if anybody was at the residence or locate the original caller at that time.
Deputies were dispatched again to the address after 2 a.m. on Valentine's Day, when the mother called 911 -- this time after the suspects had fallen asleep. When deputies arrived, Jesse Kalchert allegedly attempted to drag his mother into the back bedroom, but she was able to scream and deputies kicked the door in and both
brothers were taken into custody. One was inside the home and one had fled into the back yard.
Deputies later discovered that during the first 911 call, the suspects had allegedly dragged their mother to
the back bedroom and covered her mouth so she couldn't call for help.
The mother was not hurt and did not require any medical attention.
Both brothers have extensive juvenile records: Jesse Kalchert had outstanding warrants out of the 52-4 District Court in Troy for failing to appear on a receiving stolen property and for tresspassing. Those charges have a $5,000 bond. He is currently on probation until 2013 for assaulting a Troy police officer.
Joshua Kalchert currently has an outstanding warrant out of the 52-4 District Court in Troy for failing to appear on a disorderly conduct charge with a $5,000 bond
