'Bro-tox':The Cosmetic Procedure For Men
LIVONIA (WWJ) - It's not happening as often - but more men these days are doing it - getting Botox.
WWJ's Sandra McNeill reports that men are heading to the plastic surgeon's office for cosmetic procedures these days nick-named Bro-tox.
Dr. Michelle Hardaway of Farmington Hills says she is seeing more men coming in to her office for procedures like Botox, fillers and tummy tucks.
"Some men who are recently divorced they are looking for a new mate, I've also seen some men who maybe, have re-married and have a new set of kids and they want to look younger," said Dr. Hardaway.
Sixty-two year old Robert decided to get Botox three years ago, "I was aging and I never planned on it - and like most guys - ego gets in the way and it's like, 'I can take it like a man, that was not true,'" he laughed.
"I've been seeing an increase in botox and also surgical procedures - men have liposuction of the love handle area and the lower back, that's seems to be a popular one - I also see a lot of men who want liposuction for their abdomen," said Hardaway.
One 54-year-old Livonia man had a tummy-tuck and he says his wife supports him, "I guess I'm kind of arm-candy for her, because I do look pretty good, if I say so myself," he said.
Both men say that telling other men about their treatments isn't something they do.
