Borroughs Goes Live on Microsoft Dynamics AX with First Tech Direct
Royal Oak-based First Tech Direct LLC, a Microsoft Gold Certified Partner, announced Monday the successful implementation of Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009 at Borroughs Corp., a Kalamazoo-based manufacturer of industrial storage equipment, office storage equipment, library shelving, and high-density mobile systems.
Microsoft Dynamics AX is an advanced comprehensive business management system for fast-growing midsize to large companies, offering a high degree of scalability, adaptability, and industry-specific functionality.
Borroughs implemented nearly every available module in the Microsoft Dynamics AX portfolio, including finance, production, projects, warehouse management, CRM, shop floor control and business intelligence. They were also the first Microsoft Dynamics AX customer to go live on Microsoft's management reporter for financial statements.
"Borroughs chose First Tech Direct because they were by far the most experienced in the project-based, engineer-to-order, configure-to-order manufacturing industry," said Gregory Worsnop, vice president of finance and administration at Borroughs. "The Microsoft Dynamics AX solution provides us with improved visibility of our projects, manufacturing processes and supply chain management so that we can increase profitability and customer satisfaction."
Established in 1937, Borroughs has been manufacturing and designing top-quality steel material handling and storage systems. Their focus on producing "A" grade shelving products has given them the expertise to provide systems ranging from a small back room storage requirement, to high-rise and multi-level systems.
