Bicyclist On Trek Across Lower Peninsula Dies In Hit-And-Run Crash
MONTAGUE TOWNSHIP (AP) -- Authorities say a 50-year-old Detroit-area woman participating in a group bicycle ride across Michigan's Lower Peninsula has died in a hit-and-run accident.
The Muskegon Chronicle reports Susan Cummings of Lake Orion was struck in Montague Township early Saturday by a truck that drove away. Muskegon County Sheriff Dean Roesler says the woman died at the scene.
Cummings was with a large group of bicyclists riding from the Montague area to Bay City.
