Easter Sunday is coming up and beyond the profound religious meaning of the day, there are other traditions that have taken hold: Easter egg hunts, Easter parades and for those of us who are hungry, there is the Easter brunch. If you are looking for some of the very best places to head on Easter Sunday for a meal with the family, consider one of the five listed below.

If you are looking for the ultimate Easter Brunch, then plan on being at the Dearborn Inn which offers two to choose from. In the Alexandria Room, you will find a breakfast station with bacon, sausage, omelets, waffles and more along with salads, a carving station with prime rib, a variety of buffet items from roasted lamb to striped bass along with a selection of salads, a pasta station and a desert station. Edison's Easter Brunch will offer an omelet and waffle station where made-to-order treats will be on hand, a carving station with prime rib and bourbon-glazed Dearborn Ham and a display station with slow-roasted leg of lamb and Roquefort beef tenderloin. Then there are the entrees ranging from chicken Paillard to seafood stew with shrimp, mussels and striped bass. Of course, there will be the standard items which include quiche Lorraine, hot appetizers, salads, antipasti, shrimp cocktail and blue point oysters. And if you have room, there will also be a desert station.

If you are in the Downtown Detroit area on Easter Sunday, then head to Fishbone's in Greektown for one of the best brunches around. Selections include smoked salmon, peel-and-eat shrimp, a variety of salads and cheeses along with hot foods ranging from baby back ribs, prime rib and roasted pepper steak to chicken and sausage jambalaya. There is also a huge selection of desserts, fresh fruits, an omelet station and breakfast meats from sausage to bacon. You will not leave hungry if you head to Fishbone's.

One of the more unique places to enjoy a meal on Easter Sunday is at the Aspen Restaurant which once again is offering its Grand Buffet. For those who arrive early, from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m., expect to find a variety of pastries, omelets and bacon. Additional options include honey-glazed ham, chicken piccata and sausage and sauerkraut. To go along with this, there will be a selection of salads, roasted parmigiana potatoes and homemade desserts. As with most establishments offering Easter Sunday brunch, it is recommended that reservations be made as this is a very popular event.

Known for its plush accommodations, The Henry in Dearborn, formerly the Ritz, will be offering a stunning Easter buffet. With multiple food stations that range from omelets made to order to a carving station with herb-encrusted prime rib, there will also be other selections ranging from stuffed pork loin, smoke salmon, glazed turkey breast and other scrumptious offerings. Add to this a display of international breads and what can only be termed as a "huge" selection of desserts and this promises to be a meal that will be long remembered. Reservations are suggested as again, this is a very popular event.

If you are in the Sterling Heights area, the place to go for an Easter breakfast buffet and a visit with the Easter Bunny is the Century Banquet Center, which is home of the American Polish Century Club. What you will find is a selection of foods that will keep you coming back for seconds or maybe thirds. Included is an omelet and waffle and pancake station, egg casseroles, sausages, ham, fresh fruit and a selection of pastries, to name a few. Stanley the Easter Bunny will have a special Easter gift for children and fun for all. This is a very popular event for the banquet center and reservations should be made in advance.
