Best Places To See Fireworks In Detroit

Detroit has it covered when it comes to fireworks around the 4th of July holiday. There are hundreds of events around town and in the city, ready to explode in a glorious display of colors overhead. From fireworks that explode above the water and fireworks set to music, to attending a week-long event surrounding the fireworks on the 4th, there are a bevy of ways to celebrate with friends and family. Clawson's 4th of July has been a town tradition since 1933. This celebration features an arts and crafts show, sporting events, a flag-raising ceremony and fireworks. Additional events surrounding this extravaganza include an ice cream social, freedom run, children's garage sale and band concerts. And don't miss the Independence Day Parade that is held in conjunction with this event and includes floats and bands performing resounding renditions of patriotic tunes.

Pack up the family and head out for a glorious display of fireworks as they catapult into the evening sky, reflecting on the lake below. The fireworks at Veterans Memorial Park feature a day-long roster of activities guaranteed to build up excitement surrounding the main event. Kids will have a blast at the Splash Pad or eating ice cream and hot dogs, available for purchase from various vendors. Live musical performances will be held throughout the day, culminating at the end of the night in an explosive serenade -- the grand finale of all fireworks set to music. A live broadcast of the music accompanying the fireworks can be heard on 87.9 FM.

Sparks in the Parks in Milford features an array of fun activities for the entire family, not to mention the fireworks themselves. The greatest activity has to be "The Great Campout" which invites participants to set up a tent and roast hot dogs, make s'mores at the campfire, take a refreshing dip in the pool and play lawn games with friends and family. Or check out the "Sparks Market Avenue," an extravaganza of crafts, produce and flowers. As a prelude to the fireworks, live music will be performed on the grounds, adding a special feel to this well-attended event.

The Lake Erie Metropark is located on the shores of Lake Erie and features a stunning visual display of nature, as well as an array of exciting activities for the entire family. Birdwatchers will revel in the hawks that fly overhead, kids love the giant wave pool and playground, while everyone appreciates the nature trails and boat launch area, where families can set sail in a boat or explore in a kayak. An added bonus includes an 18-hole golf course on the premises. Prior to the fireworks blasting overhead, live music will be performed to get spectators in the mood for the main attraction.

The Livonia Spree isn't just about fireworks, it is a huge event that celebrates the founding of Livonia itself. Bring a picnic and settle in with family and friends while lively conversation and laughter fills the air. Activities include a magic show, petting farm, pig races, clowns and a pancake breakfast. There will be a carnival on site with fast rides and old-fashioned fare. Live music performances will be held throughout the week, featuring everything from jazz and rock to country.
