"Bankable Thanks" Job Fair and Business Expo
As the holiday season prepares to shift into high gear, Detroiters hoping to land a job will be happy to hear this news.
The Bankable Thanks Job Fair & Business Expo is being held from 10 to 7 Wednesday in Downtown Detroit at the Dime Building. The Dime Building is located at 719 Griswold, and the job fair and business expo will take place in suite 820.
Employers are seeking to fill more than 200 positions. Those jobs range from customer service, to insurance agents and general labor. Prospective applicants are encouraged to dress for success and to bring current resumes.
Attendees will also have an opportunity to attend a seminar on the Detroit Microloan Program, which will show existing and aspiring entrepreneurs how they can receive up to $50,000 to expand or start a business. This seminar takes place from 11am to noon.
Between 3:30 and 4pm, there will be a presentation telling people who lack medical and dental insurance where they can go to receive these services for free.
Vendors will also be on hand to help attendees get a head start on their shopping. A variety of items will be for sale, including artwork, purses, leather goods and gift baskets.
