Area Red Cross Sending Volunteers To Aid 'Irene' Victims
DETROIT (WWJ) - The Southeast Michigan Chapter of the American Red Cross is sending help to aid those hit by hurricane Irene. Allison Koenigbauer spoke with WWJ and details what they've done:
"So far we have deployed 12 volunteers to the East Coast ... they are going to Virgina, Boston, and some areas of Maryland and New Jersey today," said Koenighauer.
Some are driving emergency supply vehicles. Others will open shelters in the area, and staff kitchens.
