Arbor Hospice Foundation Knows How To Party
The Arbor Hospice Foundation really knows how to throw a party! They had their annual fundraising gala at the Fox Hills Golf & Conference Center in Plymouth. The event is called "Savour the Journey: A Celebration of the Things We Love About Life."
The event started off with an opportunity to spend only $25 for a bottle of wine (as you will see below). Here is the catch: the bottles were covered up in white paper with drawings from children. The wines ranged from bottles worth $25 all the way to $200! I decided to purchase one for a good cause! I ended up with a $40 bottle of White Burgundy wine from France!
The event had the most amazing food I've had in one night! Dishes from Food Art, Fox Hills Golf & Banquet Center, Giovanni's Ristorante, Lake Street Tavern, Makkara Sushi, Moveable Feast, Rice Cakes and Satchel's BBQ, and delicious desserts created by Decadent Delight, Happy Endings Bake Shop, Jefferson Street Market and Shatilla. I had a happy belly (to say the least).
There was an auction after dinner. The items were to die for! Tigers suite tickets – a shopping spree at Neiman Marcus – a vacation to Los Cabos San Lucas – jewelry and so much more.
My favorite fundraising idea? One hundred glasses of champagne were sold during the event for $100 each. Ninety-nine were filled with cubic zirconias and one had a 1.2 kt diamond in it! At the end of the night, each gem was examined to find out who won the diamond!
The event hosted about 300 people. No detail went forgotten, even down to the centerpieces.
All I have to say is…. Next year, you won't want to miss this party. Again, it's all for a good cause!
