Antoine Joubert Hosts Skate Party For Charity
FARMINGTON HILLS (WWJ) - Former University of Michigan basketball star Antoine Joubert is inviting everyone to a skating party Saturday night.
Proceeds from the "Let's Skate the Night Away" fundraiser will go to Joubert's non-profit basketball program for young NBA hopefuls, "Judge's Court Club Basketball."
"I would like to see all of my kids get some kind of scholarship no matter what level it's on, to be able to go to college and get their education. That's my ultimate goal," Joubert said of the program.
Although the Judges Court is about basketball, Joubert says that is not the only avenue of success he promotes.
"All of the kids are looking to go to the pros and we try to tell them if that's there that's good, but if not, you can always get your education and become a success," Joubert said.
The fundraiser runs between 8 pm and 11 pm Saturday, March 19 at the Bonaventure Family Skating Center on Halsted Road in Farmington Hills. Admission is $10.
