'AirTime' Jumps Onto Fitness Scene With Trampoline Game Park

TROY (WWJ) -- If you're looking for something new to do with the kids -- or co-workers -- you might be interested in a new trampoline and game park in Troy.

Melissa Morris with AirTime Trampoline & Game Park said that the dodgeball court is a favorite among corporate groups.

"It's got a regulated dodgeball court -- I do a lot of corporate team-building dodgeball," Morris said. "The companies that bounce together, stay together. It's great, you get your boss out there and anything goes with that dodgeball."

The cost depends on time and day, but packages and promotions takes it down to as little as $5-per-hour. Prime-time rates run about $20 for a two-hour pass.

"There's one person per trampoline, no double-jumping, no gainers," Morris said. "You follow the rules and you will be safe."

Trampoline game parks are relatively new on the sports and exercise scene, but interest is apparently jumping as AirTime is already expanding -- its third trampoline game park is opening next month in Westland, adding to the one in Troy and one in Sterling Heights.

"It's got a mosh pit -- it's a foam pit where they jump in to. It's kind of like a swimming pool with foam," Morris said. "We also have a basketball court and two dodgeball courts."

The Westland facility is converting the former Value City "big box" and will employ another 75 people.
