Mother, Daughter Struck By Vehicle Outside Of Novi Middle School

NOVI (WWJ) - Authorities say a mother and daughter were rushed to the hospital after being struck by a vehicle outside of Novi Middle School.

The accident happened Wednesday morning at the school, located in the area of 11 Mile and Wixom roads.

Police say the mother and her 12-year-old daughter were taken to St. John Providence Park Hospital with minor injuries.

An investigation is now underway to determine exactly what happened.

No other injuries were reported.

It's the second time in less than a week that a student was struck by a vehicle and injured while outside of their school. Last Friday, 14-year-old Victoria Cartwright was walking to Dakota High School in Macomb when she was struck by a vehicle driven by a 16-year-old classmate. Cartwright died from her injuries at the hospital.
