Colorado leaders look into fire mitigation options to protect their communities from wildfires
This summer, wildfires forced evacuations and burned hundreds of thousands of acres across Colorado. The ongoing drought is leaving forests and other fuels dry and more vulnerable to fire. Leaders in Jefferson County took a trip to the mountains on Tuesday to see what can be done before a fire starts.
