LITTLETON, Colo. (CBS4)- Hundreds of students experienced a day of hands-on learning with the latest technology at Lockheed Martin on Thursday.
More than 800 students participated in the "Young Minds At Work" program where friends and family of employees visited the facility. It's a twist on the traditional "Bring Your Child To Work Day."
They participated in experiments like the water bottle rocket launch, robot building and a virtual reality demonstration.
Kids even got a sneak peek into Lockheed Martin's real life space missions.
"I liked how we went into the clean room, it's where they're building satellites to go to Mars and an asteroid," said 5th grader Izzy Giroux.
"It was so exciting to learn about all these new things and technology that could go up in space," said 4th grader Gabi Giroux.
Lockheed said the goal of Young Minds at Work is to introduce a new generation to the wonders of science and technology.
